The number sounds enormous until length, width and height are added together and compared with an ordinary suitcase.

How the 275cm Rule Works

easyJet's 275cm checked-baggage figure is a combined linear total, not the permitted length of one side. A large suitcase measuring 75 x 50 x 30cm totals 155cm. To check a hold bag correctly, measure its widest external points, including wheels, fixed handles, feet, projections, bulging pockets and protective packaging, then add length, width and depth. Passing the linear-size calculation does not override weight, restricted-item or special-baggage requirements.

Measure the Whole Bag

Measure the packed bag at its widest external points and add length, width and depth before travelling.

Cabin baggage uses fixed side limits and must be evaluated differently. Weight and special-item rules still apply.
